You may have tried to give up smoking before and struggled however, don't let it put you off. Really consider what you can do that will help you quit for good this time and learn from your past experiences.
Make a plan
Prepare, Prepare, Prepare!!
Set a date, make a promise to yourself and stick to it. Identify when you have your 'habitual' cigarettes and work of ways around them. Surround yourself with a support network that will help you when you're feeling temptation creep in.
Keep your hands and mouth busy
Break the habit and keep your hands and mouth busy, we don't mean you should take up juggling however, chewing gum, lozenges or using e-cigarettes will help to keep your mouth occupied.
Make a list
Listing all the reasons to quit may help you put things into perspective and motivate you towards quitting. Keeping a picture of a loved one and looking at it when you're experiencing times of weakness may eliminate your temptation.
Get some stop smoking support
If friends or family want to quit as well, why not make a pact and do it together. A problem shared is a problem halved.
